Unlocking the cosmos through citizen science

We're a team of astronomers, educators and space enthusiasts dedicated to making cosmic discoveries accessible to everyone, combining rigorous research with genuine wonder.

Our mission

Space exploration for everyone

Novastra was founded to democratize astronomy. We believed that cosmic discoveries shouldn't be locked behind university walls or expensive equipment. We built a platform where amateur astronomers, students, and curious minds can contribute to real space exploration projects, learn from professionals, and participate in genuine scientific discovery alongside institutions around the world.

Today we host thousands of observers tracking exoplanet transits, analyzing deep-sky images, and contributing data that informs professional research. From schoolchildren in rural areas to retired engineers, our community is expanding humanity's understanding of the universe together.

What drives us

The principles behind our work

Science with impact

We focus on observations and data that advance real astronomy. Every citizen scientist contribution is verified and feeds into peer-reviewed research. We measure success not by clicks, but by discoveries that expand our cosmic knowledge.

Transparency always

Clear explanations, honest discussions about what we know and don't know, and no overselling of results. When observations require revision, you'll hear the science first.

Community first

You're not a passive observer here—you're a contributor to space exploration. We work alongside you as fellow explorers, not as gatekeepers of knowledge. Your observations matter to the mission.

Our mission

Rigorous science, boundless curiosity

We keep our observation teams lean and focused, ensuring the astronomers who identify targets are the same ones leading the research. No bureaucracy, no delays — just experienced scientists with direct access to the data.

We're passionate about precision, celebrate each breakthrough together, and treat every cosmic mystery like it's fundamental to human understanding.
